I have been a resident of South Florida since 1998.  Birding was always a pastime, but when I had a bout with pneumonia a number of years ago, the camera and the birds became a life saver.  

There a many places to see the unique birds of Florida, not the least in my backyard.   Although we attempt to travel near and far around the state when time permits, many weekends just siting out back provides me with the simple pleasures of seeing what new birds have found their way here.
